Freelancer for JESUS

Deep Purple - Smooth Dancer

Black suede, don't mean you're good for me
Black suede, just brings your mystery
I want to be inside of you
But you're black and I don't know what to do

You're a smooth dancer
But it's alright
Cos I'm a freelancer
And you can never break me though you try
To make me think you're magical

Baby, you're the one who can never see the sun
Because it don't shine nightly
Don't you look at me because I'm gonna shake free
You'd better hang on tightly
You wanna rule the world, but you're acting like a girl
Who's got a false pregnancy
You've swollen up inside with nothing but your pride
And yet you keep on dancing

Black suede, don't waste your time on me
Black suede, I sense your mockery
I tried to go along with you
But you're black and I know just what to do

You're a smooth dancer
But it's alright
Cos I'm a freelancer
And you can never break me though you try
To make me think you're magical

I think you're crazy, your two-timing ways
They don't bother me none
You'd better do it right because one day or night
I'm gonna walk to freedom
You know I loved you once and I wanna love again
But you don't give nothing
You can see it in my eyes so you've got to realize
Baby, I ain't bluffing

Black suede, don't waste your time on me
Black suede, don't bring me misery
I tried to be inside of you
But you're black and now I know what to do

You're a smooth dancer
But it's alright
Cos I'm a freelancer
And I can tell you're faking though you try
To make me think you're magical

Baby, you're the one who can never see the sun
Bacause it don't shine nightly
Don't you look at me because I'm gonna shake free
You'd better hang on tightly
You know I loved you once and I wanna love again
But you don't give nothing
You can see it in my eyes so you've got to realize
Baby, I ain't bluffing
Baby, you can rock'n'roll
But you can never show your soul, smooth dancer

Bye, bye SATAN!
Ian gillan wrote this about his bandmate ritchie blackmore, ritchie was the black suede. listen to the lyrics !!!!!!
5
Correct, but to me it's about the DEVIL! Ian used to believe in JESUS when he was young! Blackmore is a type of the devil.
At least, back then...

    1. +Spencer Jones Hebrews is for the HEBREWS=the JEWS.

Rightly dividing the Word is the goal of this article, and it is an indispensable key to proper understanding of the Bible. The abundance of scriptural evidence detailed in the third section makes it very clear that Revelation is doctrine for Israel, which was written to Jews who believed in Jesus Christ, by an apostle of the circumcision, for direct application in the prophetic "kingdom" dispensation. At the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple, God placed that dispensation in abeyance in 70 AD, to be resumed in the future tribulation.

The entire book of Revelation, including chapters 1-3, is deeply rooted in Old Testament prophecy. It is doctrinally aligned with the epistles of Peter, James, John, and Jude, all of whom were apostles of the circumcision, as well as to the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Hebrews, and the Old Testament.

The dispensation of grace in which we now live is revealed in Romans through Philemon, our Apostle Paul's letters to the Gentiles, with Acts being the book of transition between the two dispensations.

    1. Great AMERICAN input and there's nothing wrong with that and I'm DUTCH!
Those who think I'm anti-American got it all WRONG, because I love (most) Americans but I HATE the US as a STATE because it's serving the satanic Vatican and the Pope and my country, the Netherlands, as a STATE is also serving the Vatican, being part of the EU, the Unites Sates of Europe, which is the revived SATANIC ROMAN EMPIRE!
I pray that the still living (ex)members of Deep Purple will be saved by JESUS Christ and I still love this kind of music.

  3. Jerusalem - Catch the Devil, Catch the Thief

    +1
A thief broke into my house last night, yeah, he came when I was asleep
He took my joy, took my smile, blew my light, took my boldness to keep
An easy job for him; it didn't take long 'til my possessions were gone

So catch the devil, catch the thief
His place is under my feet
Catch the devil, catch the thief
    Breaking his spell
No devil in Hell will ever control me

I was so mad when I saw what he'd done, I wanted to get revenge
Next time he tries to get into my house I'm gonna kick him out
For all the things he's been taking from me, it's gonna cost him a lot

Catch the devil, catch the thief
His place is under my feet
Catch the devil, catch the thief
    Breaking his spell
No devil in Hell will ever control me

Some people say, "It's already too late; nothing can change this world,"
Speaking for darkness, making a big mistake, for the message they've never, ever, ever, ever heard

Catch the devil, catch the thief
His place is under my feet
Catch the devil, catch the thief
    Breaking his spell
No devil in Hell will ever control me

    Whoa
    Whoa

You can also beat him and you surely will
Strike first - it's your dominion
He's just a problem when you don't know that Jesus is the champion he is
So wherever you are, and wherever you go, go cast the devil out, out

Catch the devil, catch the thief
His place is under my feet
Catch the devil, catch the thief
The time is come when he's gonna run
He will never control you or me
Oh, no, no, no, no, yeah

Thank you Hans. We have a multitude of musical genres to fulfill our multivariant appetites. As I said before, I like the lyrics. I was seriously considering using the Psalms and Proverbs, and even many of the prophets to incorporate into music. I'm waiting until I can learn to play stringed instruments before I dive into it, and bomb out.

    3. Lyrics:
The call came out of heaven
      Listen to the only lifeline
He'll change darkness into bright light
Yeah, His word is always right

      King Herod and the Romans
      Oppressed the Galilean Jews
But then Jesus showed his wonders
      Everyone spread the news:

(That He) walked upon the water
      The Father from the sky!
      Walked upon the water

      He walked on the lake and found;
His friends cried a fearful sound
      Peter followed but was shouting out;
      Help me I'm gonna drown!

      When it all was over
      Peter saw his loving face
      Jesus said 'you mustn't doubt'
Or you'll be losing all your faith

(And He) walked upon the water
      The Father from the sky!
      Walked upon the water

      See Him walk!

He ended up like a criminal
It was as if nobody cared
But He said, "Father forgive them"
      And He died
      Taking our sins away

      Then He rose again
      The Son of Man
He did it all for us
      No matter what
      You may think of Him
      I Know, for you
      He died on that cross

(And He) walked upon the water
      The Father from the sky!
(And He) walked upon the water

I was a professional dancer and I can't dance at 57 like I could at 25 but still enjoy dancing. We all get old and he has had arthritis in his left hand since the early seventies if you watch the old videos you see him shaking and trying to ease up the stiffness in his left hand. You don't see Page out trying to play in his older age. It's just good to see him on stage playing his old stuff and he has already recorded some new songs. Give the gentleman a break. It seems the crowd is having fun and that's what it is all about.

For the disappointed: You asked for it, Ritchie delivered as best he could. His work with Blackmore's Night is perhaps his finest and most challenging playing ever (Possum goes to Prague comes to mind...) He's 73. You want Epic Blackmore....tons of bootlegs of both the MKII DP and the RJD Rainbow era out there. For all you complainers....please submit a video response of you playing when you're 73 years of age. Also...make it material you wrote 40+ years prior. I'll be waiting right here.... (btw You want my ability to judge, look for my video of me playing Burn with my DP Tribute "Deep Shades of Purple" ."DSoP" ..I'm not Ritchie, nor do I claim to be...but I at least can prove I have the right to make critiques.) I saw Blackmore in 1976 and by 1984 and I thought his rock playing sounded 'off', but when he went to BN I thought that was the best decision ever. No need for RB to just be another of the aging dinosaur rockers of our past. He's happy in BN....let the legend 'work retire' as he pleases...

He really seems to love the acoustic, I'd like to see some acoustic performances on the tour, though I really enjoy the electric when it sounds like it's on fire :)

There is a time to hang it up - and Blackmore should have done so prior to this instead of carrying on. The old saw where others have to have the same level of fame and talent to criticize is a bunch of horseshit. Blackmore is embarrassing himself here. Any guitar player with a year or two under their belt could play this.

How about you just look at something else and let those of us with some class enjoy the most talented guitarist in history still do his thing. Why bad mouth him when no one is forcing you to watch it. Didn't your parents or the pack of dogs that raised you teach you that if you do not have something good to say then move on. WTF are these clueless morons talking about? Ritchie's solo here was very masterful and smooth as silk. Sure, he did some improv, but most guitarists do that live - especially on songs they've been playing for decades. Also, he's been playing acoustic stuff for years now, so he plays the electric differently than he used to - more delicately and precisely.

And I've been a lead guitarist for 30 years, so I can surely tell when a guitarist is playing well or sucking - I bet most of you idiots can't even play three chords.

be positive all these critics should say that we are lucky that a legend like ritchie is still alive and on stage at 73 years old. It's sure that you can not be as fit at age 73 as you are at age 25. compare what is comparable ... he always has a great feeling in these solos and a personality in his playing that makes him immediately identifiable. Let's focus on the qualities of people instead of criticizing their faults, Ritchie can not help it if he is 73 years old, I guess he'd always like to be 25 years old!

Sadly, i agree, Ritchie still plays well mechanically, techically, but no fire

    16. Ritchie Blackmore, 4 days after he turned 73. To all the (young) studs who think he's playing too slow and that he's almost DEAD: play it at 1:25 speed and realize that the audio of this video is NOT top quality. Good luck when you're 73!

Pity that Ritchie is merely a shadow of himself and this band Jens Johansson excluded are not up to the level to be called Rainbow. They seem to be playing with no emotion or balls at all with Ritchie unfortunately struggling. That said Ritchie at half his former power slays half the guitarists out today ,speed be damned.I could listen to Jens all day tho.I have seen Blackmores Night several times and really the Ritchie of today suits that style much better and seems to be where his heart is.So people me included need to accept it.

    19. @Kurt Sherrick Keith Emerson killed himself when he couldn't play anymore like he used to, now that's sad!

@Hans S That is so sad. Jon Lord and Emerson were my favorite keyboardist. Thank you for sharing that with me.

Bill Smith He doesn't need the money the man is worth over 300,000,000 bucks. He is doing for the fans.

  6. One of the late Keith Emerson's BEST, but music is TEAMWORK so I give credit to the entire band and the orchestra.

    2. Pray for so many people, because even a lot of flat earthers are still unsaved and don't believe in the RIGHT gospel:

Let's also pray for Ritchie Blackmore and his family and the members of Rainbow and also for the members of Deep Purple and former members and their families and all their fans.
So many people are lost without God's undeserved gift of grace through faith in the forgiving blood of JESUS Christ.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers also realized the earth is flat ("it's the edge of the world" and "space may be the final frontier"). However, that does not change the fact they are still lost. Let's pray for them
